INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
These courses are discipline specific and include Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Black Powder, Reloading & Chief Range Safety Officer. In order to become an instructor, you must first take and pass the basic course in the discipline in which you want to teach.
Each course contains a Basic Instructor Training (BIT) Element that is standard for all disciplines. This will train you in the NRA Teaching method - a well developed, very systematic teaching method that requires student participation. This method involves the student in the learning process, engages them in the subject, and allows for the instructor to test for understanding at every step of the way.
The second component to the instructor training is the actual firearm course. You will apply the BIT principles to the Basic course in order to become skilled at teaching the course.
